The ambiance was brewing at 60 Beans Coffee & Tea’s social media event on Nov. 18, as the cafe, located at 36-02 Ditmars Blvd in Astoria, hosted a soft opening.

The gathering was an exclusive introduction to the eatery’s new kitchen and dinner menu. Renamed 60 Beans Kitchen & Coffee, staff members at the spot served complimentary dinner, drinks and more to social media professionals.

Guests took pictures and videos, while promoting the soft opening through a #60Beans hashtag on platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The cafe offered at the soft opening featured a variety of appetizers, entrees, desserts and beverages to the public. The menu includes dishes such as: Bucatini pasta, a roasted beets salad, chicken liver pâté, salted caramel custard and cheese cake. Wine and draft beers are also offered.

60 Beans Coffee & Tea was established in August 2014 by owners Peter Voyiatzis and John Rocchio, who also own Brooklyn Bagel and Coffee in Astoria and Chelsea. Unlike those locations, their vision for 60 Beans is to own an independent coffee house. Voyiatzis and Rocchio hired chef/partner Domenick Gianfrancesco, who worked at Craft and Craftbar NYC.

The café’s serene setting consists of tufted wall panels, a fire place and vintage iron works with warm wood tones. The 60 Beans staff provides skillfully crafted coffee, tea and espresso.

Its hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Table-service and the dinner menu are available from 5:30-10 p.m., 7-days a week.
