Police want to find the woman who used a Little Neck victim’s personal information to fund a shopping trip to Saks Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.

Law enforcement sources said the thief, described as a black female, obtained personal information from a 38-year-old woman sometime between Feb. 20 and Feb. 25 of this year. Police do not yet know how the thief acquired the victim’s information.

Shortly after stealing the victim’s personal information, the thief reportedly opened a line of credit at the Saks Fifth Avenue flagship location at 611 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. She then went on a shopping spree at the high-end department store, racking up more than $2,100 in purchases.

The Little Neck woman later learned of the fraudulent transactions and reported it to the 111th Precinct. During their investigation, police obtained security camera images of the identity thief at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS, visit their website or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
