They snuck up on their victims and delivered a violent surprise.
Three individuals remain at large in connection with a pair of robberies in Ozone Park last weekend that left two victims with significant injuries.
Police released on Thursday night video footage of the suspects, all of whom are described as black males in their late teens or early 20s who were wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts and kept the hoods up during both assaults.
According to authorities, the first mugging took place at 1:45 a.m. on April 16 in the vicinity of Glenmore Avenue and 76th Street.
Reportedly, the three suspects approached a 25-year-old man from behind and knocked him to the ground. They then punched and kicked him about the head and body, then removed his cellphone and wallet.
The victim was brought to NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens hospital for treatment of injuries including two black eyes and numerous head lacerations.
Then at 11:25 p.m. on April 17, police said, the same group of attackers assaulted a 32-year-old man in front of a home on 77th Street near Liberty Avenue.
According to authorities, one of the suspects approached the victim from behind and struck him in the face with a rock, causing the man to fall to the ground. The assailant was joined by his two cohorts, who punched and kicked the victim about the head and body and removed his cellphone and wallet.
Police said the victim was brought to Jamaica Hospital in critical but stable condition after suffering facial and head lacerations and fractures.
