Burglar tries to enter Bayside home through window while homeowner is inside: cops

Cops are looking for a suspect who tried breaking into a Bayside home in broad daylight before being spotted by the homeowner inside.

On Oct. 17 at around 4 p.m., according to law enforcement sources, a 69-year-old male victim was inside his bedroom at his home along 37th Avenue when he heard a noise from his window. He then noticed that his bedroom window, which had previously been closed, was opened halfway.

The victim then saw the unknown suspect at his window and was able to take a photo of him before he fled the scene, police said.

The incident was reported to the 111th Precinct. There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 40s, 5 foot 7 inches, approximately 150 pounds with a short haircut. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, dark pants and a black backpack.
