Police search for man who assaulted his 18-year-old stepson and a 5-year-old boy in Jackson Heights

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 31-year-old man who violated a court order when he entered a Jackson Heights home to assault his 18-year-old stepson and a 5-year-old boy.

According to police, Alix Sanchez entered an apartment at 94th Street and 37th Avenue on Nov. 30 at approximately 8 p.m., even though he had an order of protection against him.

Sanchez forced himself into the residence, pushed his 18-year-old stepson and then smacked a 5-year-old boy in the face before fleeing, police said. It was not clear if he is related to the 5-year-old.

The child was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where he was evaluated. There were no injuries reported.

Police said that Sanchez is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 190 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.
