Detectives continue to investigate the death of a 31-year-old man who was found with a slashed neck inside a Long Island City hotel room on Friday afternoon.

Officers from the 108th Precinct were called to the La Quinta Inn at 37-18 Queens Blvd. at 2:20 p.m. on June 1 after receiving a 911 call about an unconscious man at the location.

Upon arriving at the scene, police said, the officers found the unconscious 31-year-old man lying on a bed inside a hotel room, with slash wounds to his neck. Responding paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene; his body was then taken to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.

Police have not disclosed the man’s identity, pending family notification.

At this point, sources familiar with the investigation said, it’s unclear whether or not the man’s wounds were self-inflicted; detectives are awaiting the Medical Examiner’s report for further clarification.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
