Flushing Town Hall launched its 40th season last week with a preview of performances of Timeless Kunqu, Paquito D’Rivera, and John di Martino Trio illustrating the popular venue’s mission to offer global arts for a global community this fall and winter.
“This fall will feature a dynamic array or arts and culture for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience,” said Flushing Town Hall Executive and Artistic Director Ellen Kodadek. “At Flushing Town Hall, we continue to share global arts with a global community by presenting a diverse selection of programming – and this new season is no exception!”
The fall/winter season will feature monthly jazz jams celebrating the legacy of Louis Armstrong, a new Lioness concert series featuring women in jazz, starting with the Roxy Coss Quintet (Sept. 23), live drawing with models each month and the annual Holiday Historic House Tour and Holiday Market (Dec.9).
Other upcoming season highlights include Inner Mongolia Arts Group (Sept. 15), Banda Magda (Sept. 21), South American Mash-Up: Inkhay & Río Mira (Oct. 19), Paquito D’Rivera & John di Martino Trio (Oct. 26), Light & Beat: Art of Korean Drumming (Nov. 9), Diwali Festival: Kathak, Bhangra, & Beyond (Nov. 10), NEA Jazz Masters (Nov. 16), FEI Music: A Fusion Music Concert (Dec. 2), The Rainbow Fish by Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia (Dec. 8) and a Winter Holiday Weekend (Dec 8-10).

Flushing Town Hall is accessible by car, bus, train and foot — located a short distance from the 7 train at 137-35 Northern Blvd., in Flushing. Access for wheelchair users and individuals with limited mobility is available.
The venue is opening its doors to teenagers for free. Under the “Teen Access Program,” all 13- to 19-year-old boys and girls will be welcomed to attend any performance for free. The program is designed to appeal to students and help foster a greater love in the arts and culture.
