Shooting outside a Corona drug store leaves man injured, could be gang-related: cops

Police are still looking for the suspect behind a shooting that took place in front of a Corona pharmacy on Wednesday afternoon.

According to authorities, at 5:55 p.m. on Nov. 28, a 35-year-old man was shot multiple times outside of Sherwood Pharmacy, located 97-21 57th Ave., across the street from the LeFrak City apartment complex.

Law enforcement sources said the victim was hit multiple times in the neck, groin and back. EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

According to sources familiar with the case, a preliminary investigation found that an unknown suspect shot the victim a handgun. Sources believe the shooting could possibly be gang-related.

No arrests have been made at this time. An investigation by the 110th Precinct Detective Squad is ongoing.
