Fire Breaks Out in Queens Plaza Store: FDNY

A fire broke out in a grocery store/sandwich shop in Queens Plaza Thursday afternoon.

The fire started at 2:59 p.m. at 27-20 Queens Plaza South, according to FDNY.

Twelve units with about 60 firefighters rushed to the scene, where a Gotham Fresh Foods and Subway Sandwich Shop stand, to extinguish the flames. FDNY say the fire was under control by 3:34 p.m.

EMS personnel responded to the scene as well. According to FDNY, there are currently no injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
