Two women sought in a Murray Hill chain snatching incident: NYPD

Police from the 109th Precinct in Flushing are looking for two women who are suspected of perpetrating a chain snatching in Murray Hill last month.

The incident occurred in front of a home in the vicinity of Barclay Avenue and 149th Place at around 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, May 15.

A 56-year-old man was standing at a fence when he was approached by the two women who engaged him in a conversation before removing a chain that was hanging from his neck, police said. The suspects ran off and jumped into a gray SUV that was waiting in the street as the victim gave chase but was not successful as the vehicle drove off. The victim was not injured during the incident, police said. A grand larceny investigation is ongoing.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the Murray Hill incident that show the two women who were both wearing dark skirts, one in a pink long-sleeved blouse and the other in a blue long-sleeved blouse.
