M&M Pet Boutique & Supplies, a family-owned and operated pet grooming shop in Middle Village, launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover the cost of stolen items after the shop was robbed last week.
According to owner Emmanuel Figueroa, the store, located at 79-08 Metropolitan Ave., was robbed around midnight on Thursday, March 3. Figueroa told QNS that two men broke into the store and stole more than $10,000 worth of equipment.
“I’m kind of hurt,” Figueroa said. “We worked hard, and it’s horrible this happened to us.”
Figueroa says that cash, along with computers and other equipment in the store, were stolen items. He noted that the in-store camera was able to capture the theft and that that they contacted the police.
Police from the 104th Precinct arrived at 11:15 a.m. when one of the employees observed unidentified individuals forcibly enter the establishment and remove electronics and merchandise. The individuals fled the location to parts unknown. There have not been any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
M&M Pet Boutique opened in January; the store offers many pet services, including vaccinations, pet grooming and a dog play area.
