A T-Mobile store located near the Van Wyck Expressway in South Ozone Park was robbed at gunpoint in October and police from the 106th Precinct are still searching for two men who allegedly pulled off the heist.

Police reported that, at around 6:20 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, a 23-year-old man was working in the corner storefront at 134-11 Rockaway Blvd. when two unidentified men entered the shop. One of the men pulled out a handgun, while his partner forcibly removed around $1,700 in cash from the register, as well as a Samsung cellphone.

The two men ran from the location and fled on foot down the commercial strip, police said. The store employee was not injured during the heist.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspects on Nov. 2 and described them as having “medium” complexions. They are both believed to be in their late 20s to early 30s.

One suspect wore a distinctive dark track jacket with white striping across the chest and down the arms, dark pants and black shoes. The other suspect wore a black hooded sweatshirt with a colorful graphic across the chest, ripped blue jeans and red sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.

Through Oct. 29, the 106th Precinct has reported 179 robberies so far in 2023, three fewer than the 182 reported at the same point last year, a decline on 1.6%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
