Three gunmen remain at large after robbing Kew Gardens Hills man inside his own home: NYPD

A Kew Gardens Hills man was robbed at gunpoint by three strangers as he tried to enter his home last week. Police from the 107th Precinct in Fresh Meadows reported that the 36-year-old victim was about to enter his residence in the vicinity of 78th Avenue and Parsons Boulevard on the night of Wednesday, Jan. 24 when he was approached by three men at around 11:30 p.m.

They pulled out firearms and forced the victim into his home, taped up his hands and forcibly removed his wallet containing credit cards and approximately $300 in cash, police said. The gunmen sped away from the crime scene in a gray four-door sedan, traveling westbound on 78th Avenue toward Main Street. The victim was not injured during the heist.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the three suspects on Sunday and described them as having medium complexions. One of the gunmen wore a red hooded jacket over a gray hoodie, blue jeans, blue sneakers and a brown knit cap. A second man wore a black bubble jacket over a faded red hoodie, black sweatpants and black sneakers while the third gunman wore a black winter coat over a black sweatshirt, black jeans, black sneakers and a black baseball cap.

A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to their arrest.

Through Jan. 21, the 107th Precinct has reported 5 robberies so far in 2024, one fewer than the 6 reported at the same point last year, a decrease of 16.7%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
