District 30 candidate Alicia Vaichunas has received the official and unanimous endorsement from the Queens County Republican Party for her bid to represent the district.
Vaichunas is now the Party’s preferred candidate in the race to succeed current Council Member Robert Holden, who is term-limited and supports Vaichunas as his successor.
“I’m proud to have received the unanimous support of the Queens GOP and all Republican district leaders in Queens, cementing my candidacy as the only Republican in the race to replace my boss and mentor, Council Member Bob Holden,” said Vaichunas.
“I thank Chairman Nunziato and the board for their faith in me to carry their line and run for office with their blessing.”
Vaichunas has over seven years of experience serving as Deputy Chief of Staff to Council Member Holden, who represents the 30th District, which spans the neighborhoods of Ridgewood, Maspeth, Middle Village, Glendale, Elmhurst, and Rego Park.
Queens GOP Chairman Anthony Nunziato lauded Vaichunas’ track record and community involvement and noted her longstanding commitment to public service.
“Alicia Vaichunas has been involved in the community and the party for decades, including working hard for constituents of the 30th Council District over the last seven-plus years as the Deputy Chief of Staff for our Council Member,” said Queens GOP Chair Anthony Nunziato.
“She receives our full blessing and has the unified support of the entire Queens GOP and all Republican district leaders, who are ready to help her win and become the next Council Member.”
Curtis Sliwa, the Guardian Angels founder, also threw his weight behind Vaichunas, highlighting her steadfast commitment to the community. Sliwa, a popular figure in New York City politics, believes that Vaichunas is the right candidate to fight for the priorities of District 30 residents.
