Health Expo: Sunday, November 5, Hotel Sheraton in Flushing

Health and fitness experts agree that the problems associated with poor nutrition and lack of exercise among Americans has become a major health crisis.
The Queens Courier and the Sheraton LaGuardia East in Flushing, as a community service, are committed to providing fitness opportunities and nutrition education for people seeking healthier lifestyles.
Hundreds of people will attend the 6th annual Health Fitness and Wellness Expo at the Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel located on 135-20 39th Avenue in Flushing on Sunday, November 5 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event is designed to provide information about health and wellness services and products to help people of all ages take a more active role in their own health.
The Expo will feature a wide variety of health and fitness-related businesses, services, agencies and organizations to answer questions and guide people in their quest to become healthier.
&#8220Parkway Hospital will be there offering free flu shots to the first fifty in attendance,” said Fred Stewart, a spokesperson for Parkway Hospital. &#8220We will also have free health screenings and informative lectures on many different health topics.”
At the Expo, you can learn about weight loss, nutrition, vitamins & supplements, relaxation techniques, Yoga & Pilates, massage, pharmaceutical breakthroughs, women's health, beauty products, senior care, spas, rehabilitation opportunities and more.
This year's sponosrs are WellCare, Liberty Health Advantage, CVS Pharmacy, Privilege Care, New York Hospital Queens, The New Parkway Hospital, Parker Jewish Institute for Healthcare and Rehabilitation, The Queens Courier, and Queens Hospital Center.

To get to the Expo:
Directions by Subway: No. 7 train to Main Street, Flushing.
Directions by Bus: 48, 20, 44 and 17 to Roosevelt Avenue and/or Main Street.
Directions by Railroad: Long Island Rail Road (Port Washington Branch) to and from 34th Street Pennsylvania Station, get off at Flushing Main Street Station.
