Progressive Marketing Group, Inc. (PMG) has announced that Gary S. Cucchi has been appointed Vice President at the Melville-based strategic marketing organization.
The firm, now a 30-year player in the marketing arena, says that as Vice President, many of Cucchi’s responsibilities will include selecting new clientele as well as overseeing business development and operations for the company.
“Mr. Cucchi’s contributions to the success of PMG and to our clients’ business goals positioned him as the perfect fit for this appointment,” said Jamie Stanco, the firm’s President.
Stanco added that “his ability to zero in on essential client needs is a rare gift, and his dedication to deliver beyond expectations has made him a rising star in this industry.”
According to Cucchi, his new VP status has not affected his interaction with the customers that come to PMG for promotional advice and product awareness strategy. While he oversees the firm’s daily activities, he is still available for consultations and deals with a lot of the clients himself.
“Each program is custom tailored,” says Cucchi. “A program we write for one company won’t work for the next, even within the same industry.”
He pointed out that customizing such programs can be a challenge because of the many factors at play, including the area itself and the demographics of the people that live there.
Because of his extensive expertise in the industry, Cucchi will be responsible for overseeing both the B2B (Business-to-Business) and B2C (Business-to-Consumer) sectors that make up PMG’s long list of clients.
Cucchi noted that while the firm is equally as successful in their endeavors in both the B2C and B2B sectors, about three-quarters of their business comes from the latter.
As far as the future of PMG is concerned, Cucchi says that the company is currently looking to expand into the digital world of webcasting, hoping to do for their clients today what the birth of the Internet might have done for them 15 years ago.
An alumnus of Salisbury State University in Maryland, Cucchi earned a bachelor’s degree in communications while picking up a minor in marketing management. He was also involved in both telecommunications and sales prior to finding a home with PMG in 1998.
In his spare time, he advises several not-for-profit organizations and sits on the board of numerous charities.
