JAMAICA — A man was arrested at the Jamaica Avenue Long Island Rail Road Station March 29 for trying to hawk stolen train tickets, according to police.
An officer approached Andre Clapperton, 22, of 249 Beach 15th Street in Far Rockaway, near track No. 5 inside the station, at Sutphin Boulevard and Archer Avenue, according to a complaint from the Queens district attorney’s office.
Clapperton had five LIRR monthly passes for April valued at $254 and five 30-day MetroCards valued at $104 each, which were confiscated by the officer, according to the complaint.
Clapperton allegedly used several stolen credit cards to purchase the tickets, the complaint said. He was charged with possession of stolen property, identity theft and fraud, police said.
