JFK AIRPORT — A high-ranking French official was pulled off an Air France flight Saturday amid accusations of rape.
Dominique Strauss-Kahn is the head of the International Monetary Fund, but on Saturday he was accused of attempting to rape a Manhattan hotel maid, the Manhattan district attorney said.
Strauss-Kahn was sitting on a flight bound for Paris when city Port Authority officials pulled him off at the request of the NYPD at about 4:40 p.m., PA officials said.
The Port Authority then handed him over to police.
Strauss-Kahn was arraigned in Manhattan criminal court and faces four felony charges, including attempted rape and criminal sexual acts, the DA said.
