As 2011 continues, the state of our national economy is no better than it was two years ago. In fact, it has worsened significantly.
Unemployment continues at a high rate of 9.1 percent; people are continuing to lose their jobs, homes and health insurance; mortgage and credit card payments continue their unprecedented rise; food and fuel prices continue to be high; and we are still fighting two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
The president continues to push his costly jobs bill and Congress seems in no hurry to approve and push it through, primarily due to the fact that it is extremely expensive and, ultimately, who is going to be responsible for paying for this bill?
We know the answer to that: It will be us, the American people who will bear the ultimate responsibility for paying for it.
But that is just not acceptable. We have been paying far too high taxes and other expenses for years. When are we going to see relief? This recession is the worst since the Great Depression.
