The Martin Luther School Junior Varisty girls extended winning streak to 10 games, defeating Lexington 53-23.
Forwards Dana Azzaro scored 27 points and Franchon Martinez added 12 points to lead the Lady Cougars to their 10th straight win. Point guard Leslly Marmolejo had seven points and four assists, while Toya Brown added three points and six rebounds and Domenica Gallarraga added four points.
Then on Tuesday, the JV Lady Cougars ran their winning streak to 11 by defeating UNIS 43-7. They were led by Azzaro (17 points), Marmolejo (10 points), Brown and Martinez (six points each) and Gallarraga (four points).
MLS led the entire game and cruised to victory and now will enter the PSAA Playoffs as the number one seed (PSAA Record 6-0). Their semi final game will be played on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at Martin Luther at 3:45 p.m.
The PSAA JV Championship game will be played at Bay Ridge Prep (Brooklyn) on Thursday, Feb. 9, with game time at 4 p.m.
