In PSAA baseball action, the Martin Luther Cougars defeated Nazaerth 3-2 in eight innings in their opener behind the strong pitching of Kevin Schick, who threw a completegame victory with nine strike outs and no earned runs.
MLS’ Patrick Kelly stole home twice in the game; the first time he accomplished the feat, the Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the fourth inning.
Nazareth tied the game in the sixth and went ahead in the top of the eighth inning to take a 2-1 lead. MLS game back with one out in the eighth inning as center fielder Julien Bello- Kovacevic had a bunt base hit, stole second base and scored to tie the game on a wild throw by the catcher. Kelly then advanced to third base, where he stole home to win the game.
Eddie Mamut had two hits and Daniel Valentin once again played a superb third base.
