Ozone Park Stores Scorched by Flames

No injuries were reported after a small fire broke out inside a shopping center in Ozone Park last Thursday afternoon, Aug. 16, it was reported. According to Fire Department sources, the onealarm blaze ignited at around 4:10 p.m. inside the two-story retail building at the corner of Rockaway Boulevard and 75th Street. Responding to the scene (in the order of their arrival) were members of Engine companies 293, 236, 285, 225 and 332; Ladder companies 142, 175, 107 and 143; Squad Co. 270; Rescue 4 and Battalions 39 and 51-under the direction of Division 13-along with the 102nd Precinct and EMS units. Three hose lines were used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, an FDNY source said.
