Firefighters responded to a Maspeth intersection last Saturday morning, Jan. 19, to put out a manhole fire. Reportedly, the blaze broke out at around 8:30 a.m. at the corner of Grand Avenue and 55th Street. Members of Engine companies 206 and 291, Ladder companies 124 and 140 and Battalion 28 rushed to the scene. There were no reported injuries.
