CORONA — An off-duty bus driver was charged in connection to the theft of an iPhone from 17-year-old girl, according to police.

On Oct. 4 at about 8:45 p.m., in front of 99-25 Horace Harding Expwy., the victim was standing at a bus stop when she was allegedly approached by Michael Iglesias, 29, police said. Iglesias allegedly choked the teen, took her iPhone from her purse and pushed her to the ground, authorities said.

Iglesias then allegedly got into a black Honda Accord and fled the scene, police said.

Responding police officers tracked down the phone using the “Find My iPhone” application and located the vehicle on Myrtle Avenue and 85th Street, police said. They arrested Iglesias along with two suspects inside the car, and Iglesias was charged with robbery and criminal possession of stolen property, according to the NYPD.

Augustin Rodriguez, 27, an off-duty bus driver, and Richmond Hill resident Sayli Llonch, 28, were charged with criminal possession of stolen property, police said.
