Maspeth Man Dead In Bk. Motorcycle Crash

Spins Out On Ride In Greenpoint

A Maspeth motorcyclist lost his life last Sunday, Mar. 9, after his ride crashed into another vehicle at a Brooklyn intersection, police reported.

Law enforcement sources identified him as Jorge Rios, 47, of 69th Place in Maspeth.

According to authorities, the crash occurred at 4:30 p.m. at the corner of Manhattan Avenue and Green Street in Greenpoint.

Reportedly, Rios was riding his 2001 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Manhattan Avenue when he struck the side of a 2007 Lexus sedan driven by a 71-year-old man.

Officers from the 94th Precinct and EMS units rushed to the scene. Paramedics transported Rios to Bellevue Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The 71-year-old man, police said, refused medical attention after the crash. No charges have been filed against him, police noted.

An investigation is ongoing.
