E-waste Recycling Day In Woodside

Dozens of residents discarded old computer equipment, cell phones, printers and other unused electronic equipment at a successful E-Recycling spring cleaning day on Saturday, May 31, in Woodside. Assemblywoman Margaret Markey and Rep. Joseph Crowley hosted the day outside the Boulevard Gardens parking lot on 30th Avenue. Markey said: “People came on foot and in cars as we collected many containers full of old electronic equipment that will be safely and responsibly recycled to ensure that hazardous or toxic materials they contain to not endanger the environment.” Markey and Crowley posed alongside boxes containing collected computer junk, with Bill McClean, president of the Boulevard Gardens co-op association and workers from Green Recycling Management.
