Parents Warned Of Close Encounter Near School

Parents and children were warned to keep an eye out for a prowler who allegedly stalked a middle school student in Glendale last Friday morning, June 6, it was reported.

According to police, the incident occurred at about 8 a.m. last Friday in the vicinity P.S./I.S. 119, located at the corner of 74th Street and 78th Avenue.

Reportedly, a student was walking to school when the perpetrator- described as a Hispanic male in his mid-30s, standing 6′-tall and weighing 200 lbs.-followed her for several blocks.

Sources stated the student arrived at school safely and notified administrators, who subsequently alerted the 104th Precinct. A letter regarding the incident was sent home to parents later that afternoon.

Law enforcement agents stated the male suspect was last observed wearing a black hooded jacket with black jeans. Reportedly, the jacket may have had the logo from the TV show Sons of Anarchy.

An investigation is ongoing.
