ELMHURST — A woman who lived in Jamaica was fatally shot and two others suffered gunshot wounds shortly after police were called to deal with a disorderly crowd inside Club Hive early Halloween morning, the NYPD said.
The Police Department said Tamar Sermons, 20, of Edgewood Avenue in Jamaica, was killed after taking bullets to the neck and leg.
The NYPD said it responded to reports of a rowdy crowd inside the 79-21 Queens Blvd. venue at 4:05 a.m., and found a group engaged in a verbal dispute.
As the crowd dispersed out into the street, police said an unknown suspect began shooting near Queens Boulevard and Barnwell Avenue.
Three were struck — the 20-year-old who succumbed to her injuries, a 21-year-old woman shot in the butt and leg and a 31-year-old man whose head was grazed by a bullet, according to the NYPD.
The trio were rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where Sermons was pronounced dead and the other two victims were listed in stable condition, officers said.
The NYPD said no arrests have been made and its investigation was ongoing.
