At Sunnyside Community Services’ (SCS) Annual Celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 28, guests including Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan and City Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer joined friends and supporters at M. Wells in Long Island City to help SCS celebrate almost 40 years of providing care for individuals of all ages. Sunnyside Community Services was pleased to honor businessman Gerald Lederman with this year’s Neighborhood Visionary award for his support of SCS and the local community, as evidenced by his participation on the SCS Board of Directors, Sunnyside Shines, the Sunnyside Kiwanis and Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce. Judy Zangwill, executive director of Sunnyside Community Services, welcomed guests with a description of SCS’ array of programs and how they are designed to work together to meet the diverse needs of a wide range of individuals and families while promoting the well-being of the entire community. Pictured (from left to right) are Lederman with Katz, Nolan, Zangwill and Van Bramer.
