More weapons are being brought into our city public schools by students, and it is really a very bad and increasingly dangerous situation. How are all of these weapons getting past security guards who are in the schools? What penalties, if any, are in place to deal with those students who are bringing guns, knives and other dangerous weapons into the school buildings?
It is high time for some serious action to be taken by Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña, and our galavanting Mayor Bill de Blasio. The NYPD needs to be able to confiscate these weapons, and the offending students need to be suspended from class, or possibly even expelled and arrested if the situation warrants it.
There are no consequences for students who are disruptive, disrespectful, or who break the law—just a note home from the school! Outrageous and unacceptable to the taxpaying citizens of this city!
