Police are searching for a pair of armed bandits who swiped cash from one man on a South Ozone Park street, then grabbed a necklace off another man while fleeing the scene, last week.
The trouble began at 7 p.m. on June 16 in front of a home on 127th Street near 103rd Road.
According to authorities, the two suspects — both described as black males wearing hooded sweatshirts — approached a 32-year-old man, displayed a gun and demanded cash. They proceeded to remove from the victim $700 in cash and a necklace, then ran across the street.
As they fled the scene, police said, one of the suspects grabbed a necklace from a 60-year-old man. A bandit then pointed the gun at the second victim as the pair fled the scene inside a 2003 Ford Escape, which was last seen traveling westbound on Liberty Avenue.
The robberies were reported to the 106th Precinct; there were no reported injuries.
One of the suspects wore a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with gray sleeves, while the other wore a gray hooded sweatshirt.
Anyone with information regarding the suspects’ whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish speakers, dial 888-57-PISTA), visit their website or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
