A St. Albans man was arrested and charged after shooting down a Queens corrections officer and his wife in their home a few weeks ago.
Shea Roberts, 24, a resident of 163-46 Mathias Avenue, was taken into custody on Friday, Dec. 9 following investigation.
According to published reports, on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. two men wearing dark hoodies approached Henry Wright’s home on Mathias Avenue near 166th Street and knocked on the door, saying “It’s Rob.” The suspects were barely in the house when they shot Wright five times in the torso and one time in the shoulder of Sharon Floyd-Wright, Wright’s wife.
A surveillance video was released that shows the getaway car leaving the area where the shooting took place. The car seen in the video is described as a light colored 2011-2015 Hyundai Elantra.
Police also released a sketch of one of the gunmen involved in the attack, each of whom were described as in their late 20s and were last seen wearing black hoodies and blue jeans.

During the incident, Floyd-Wright reportedly fought back against their attackers, hitting one in the head with the claw end of a hammer. As the suspects were leaving the scene, they said, “Let Rob know I was here.” The suspects fled the scene in a double-parked sedan.
Officers from the 113th Precinct responded to the incident. Wright and Floyd-Wright were transported to Jamaica Hospital.
Police recovered six 9-mm shell casings and found blood near where the getaway car was parked at the scene.
Citing sources, the New York Daily News reported that the “Rob” mentioned during the home invasion is another corrections officer. It is unknown at this time if there is a connection between Rob and the shooters. Police are investigating whether or not the shooters had any direct connections to Wright as well.
Roberts was arrested and charged with one count of attempted murder and one count of criminal possession of a weapon. The investigation is still ongoing.
