Woman sought for stealing a bundle in cash from a bank in Ridgewood

A woman allegedly robbed the Chase bank on Metropolitan Avenue on the Ridgewood/Maspeth border on Feb. 3.

Police need the public’s help in finding a female bandit who swiped cash from a bank in Ridgewood last Friday afternoon.

Authorities said the heist took place at 5:09 p.m. on Feb. 3 inside the Chase bank located at 51-15 Metropolitan Ave. on the Ridgewood/Maspeth border.

 

According to law enforcement sources, the crook — described as a white woman believed to be 50 years old, standing 5 foot 5 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds and wearing a black hat, a black coat and a black scarf — passed a demand note to the teller.

The bank employee provided the woman with an undetermined amount of cash; the bandit then fled the scene, police said.

Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the robbery; there were no injuries reported.
