Cabbie Gets Knifed in Astoria in Road Rage Attack, police say

May 4, 2017 By Jason Cohen

An enraged livery driver who felt he had been cut off by a yellow cab driver in Astoria Tuesday night stabbed the cabbie in a fit of road rage, police said.

The livery driver was traveling southbound on Crescent Street, by 30th Drive, when he claimed to have been cut off by the yellow cab driver around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday.

The yellow cab driver pulled over and the livery driver, who was in a black Audi with TLC plates, followed and parked behind him.

The two drivers began to argue and the assailant said “I’m going to kill you,” according to police. He then pulled out a knife and punctured the tires of the yellow cab.

The victim attempted to take a picture of the livery driver’s license plate, but the suspect stabbed him in the shoulder before fleeing the scene.

The cab driver was taken to Elmhurst Hospital with minor injuries. No arrests have been made.
