Bird Walks with New York City Audubon — Spot and identify creatures of flight and learn how Queens Botanical Garden provides important resources for birds—like water, shelter, and insects to eat.

Free Electronics Recycling Event — Bring your working and non-working electronics to one of the Lower East Side Ecology Center’s spring e-waste collection events. Materials accepted include working and non-working computers, TVs, printers, scanners, keyboards, mice, audio/visual equipment, as well as cell phones and video games.

From My Mother’s Mother — Celebrate Mother’s Day with a chamber opera about a Korean tradition where Korean women, post-birth, are given seaweed soup, which is prepared by their own mother and believed to assist in recovery. This story, composed by Jeeyoung Kim, deals with love and reconciliation through one mother providing something to help her daughter, only to face rejection. Perofrmance in Korean with English subtitles.

Annual Spring Concert — The Queens College Choral Society will perform Haydn’s dramatic “Creation” for its Annual Spring Concert. The beloved oratorio will be sung by professional soloists, along with talented high school musicians, students, college staff and members of the public.

World’s Fair History Walking Tour: Mother’s Day Edition — Take your World’s Best Mom on the World’s Fair Walking Tour on Mother’s Day. Hear the stories behind the Unisphere, New York State Pavilion, Hall of Science, Queens Zoo Aviary, Carousel, Time Capsules, Underground Home, second-oldest outdoor antiquity in NYC, and more. Everyone is welcome, and we’ll have a free chocolate rose for every mom who takes the tour (while supplies last).
