Fresh Meadows woman robbed of her purse in front of her home: cops

Police are looking for a man who stole a woman’s purse while she was outside of her Fresh Meadows home.

According to law enforcement sources, at 5:55 p.m. on Feb. 15, the 50-year-old woman was standing on the porch of her home, located in the vicinity of 181st Street and Union Turnpike, when she was approached by an unknown man. The man asked her for the time and then proceeded to grab for her purse.

A struggle ensued, causing the suspect to slam the victim into her vehicle and removed her purse, which contained seven credit cards, $800 in cash and an iPhone 8. The suspect the fled the scene in a silver Ford Fusion that was being driven by another person.

Police describe the suspect as a man aged between his mid 20s and mid 30s, standing 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall.
