Police are looking for three armed men who lured their victim out of his Jamaica apartment and beat him up.
According to police, at 12:01 a.m. on Feb. 15, a 19-year-old man was in his apartment, located in the vicinity of 89th Avenue and Merrick Boulevard, when he heard repeated knocking on his door. When he opened the door, he was assaulted by three unknown men.
As the men were punching the victim in the face, authorities said, two of the suspects pulled out handguns and hit the victim with their weapons. The victim somehow managed to keep the assailants from entering his apartment and shut the door on them.
Law enforcement sources said the perpetrators then fled the building on foot westbound on 89th Avenue.
The victim suffered a laceration to his head and was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.
Cops described the three suspects as black men. The first suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater with the word “Puma” across its chest and black sweatpants. The second assailant wore a black coat with a fur-lined hood and light-colored pants, and the third individual wore dark-colored clothing.
