Knife-wielding crook assaults Ridgewood grocery store worker and steals cash

Cops are looking for a knife-wielding crook who recently assaulted a Ridgewood corner store employee and took off with cash from the register.

According to police, at 10:35 a.m. on Nov. 19, the unidentified suspect walked into the Lucky Guy Deli and Grocery, located at 72-20 Forest Ave. Once inside, the perpetrator approached the 48-year-old male employee, displayed a knife and demanded money.

Law enforcement sources said the crook then struck the victim in the face before taking $450 from the register. The bandit then fled the store on foot.

Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the incident. The store employee refused medical attention.

On Nov. 27, the NYPD released images of the suspect, who’s described as a light-skinned man with short, dark hair and a medium build, and standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and grey sneakers.
