Detectives are looking for a suspect who is said to be connected to a series of burglaries that took place at a Jewish school and a synagogue in Kew Gardens over the past few months.
According to police, at 2 a.m. on Nov. 19, 2017, an unknown individual entered the Yeshiva Shaar HaTorah school, located at 117-06 84th Ave., and stole two pairs of headphones valued at $200. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Months later, the suspect returned to the school on March 17, 2018. During this incident, at 4 a.m. the suspect entered the school and took a laptop and computer accessories worth $200 then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The suspect came back to the school a third time on March 24. At 3:35 a.m., the suspect entered the school through the rear door and took $600 worth of quarters from a soda machine. The crook fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Officials say that at 2:34 a.m. on April 7, the same suspect entered Khal Adas Yereim, located at 122-31 Metropolitan Ave., through the side entrance. Once inside, the thief took two charity boxes that contained an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The suspect then came back to Yeshiva Shaar HaTorah later that same month. During the fifth incident, the crook was caught on video entering the school at 5 a.m. on April 28. Once inside, the suspect took $300 from a soda machine and fled the scene in an unknown direction.
