This Chase bank on Eliot Avenue in Middle Village was the site of an attempted robbery on June 14.

Detectives are looking for the suspect who made two failed bank robbery attempts in Middle Village on Thursday morning.

Law enforcement sources said the first bid occurred just after 11 a.m. on June 14 at the Chase bank located at 74-07 Eliot Ave.

According to police, the unidentified suspect walked into the location, approached the counter and passed a demand note to a teller. After the teller refused to comply with the request, the perpetrator exited the bank empty-handed.

Sources familiar with the investigation said that he was last seen fleeing inside a black sedan that’s believed to be a livery cab.

Then, at 11:33 a.m. on June 14, the suspect paid a visit to the Chase bank located at 74-03 Metropolitan Ave., about 3/4 of a mile away from the Eliot Avenue location. As in the first instance, authorities said, he presented a demand note to the teller.

This time, police said, the employee provided the crook with an undetermined amount of money. The suspect then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to both incidents. There were no reported injuries.

The NYPD described the suspect in both capers as a white man in his 50s standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds with facial hair who was seen wearing a black shirt, a tan hat and glasses.

The investigation is ongoing; anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. All calls are kept confidential.

Earlier this month, police responded to a similarly failed bank robbery attempt on June 8 at a Chase bank on the Ridgewood/Maspeth border. It’s not immediately known if this incident is connected to the June 14 incidents.

Less than an hour after Thursday’s failed robbery bid on Eliot Avenue, the 104th Precinct retweeted a wanted flier for the suspect wanted in the June 8 attempted heist.
