Police need the public’s help in tracking down a woman who robbed a bank in Corona on Saturday afternoon.
Law enforcement sources said the heist took place at 3 p.m. on Sept. 16 at the Queens County Savings Bank located at 51-13 108th St., near Corona Avenue.
According to authorities, the bandit — described as a black woman standing 5 foot 5 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds with a dark complexion and wearing a black coat, black hat and black sunglasses — approached the counter and passed a demand note to a 21-year-old female teller.
The employee complied with the request and handed to the suspect an undetermined amount of money, police said. Cash in hand, the thief fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The robbery was reported to the 110th Precinct; there were no injuries.
