A female cadet at the NYPD Academy in College Point was seriously injured on Monday morning after being struck by a dump truck at a nearby intersection, authorities said.

Law enforcement sources said the incident occurred at 6 a.m. at the corner of Ulmer Street and 28th Avenue.

According to authorities, the cadet — a 35-year-old woman — was attempting to cross at the intersection when she was hit by the truck, which was turning onto Ulmer Street southbound. Police said the truck dragged the cadet between 200 and 300 feet before she was finally let go. The rig was last seen heading southbound on Ulmer Street.

Officers from the 109th Precinct and EMS units responded to the scene. Paramedics rushed the cadet to NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens hospital for treatment of a head injury, but sources said that her injuries were not considered life-threatening at this time.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
