A Japanese airline has selected JFK Airport’s Terminal 6 (T6) as its future home.

JFK Millenium Partners (JMP), the parent company of the ongoing T6 development, announced on Thursday that All Nippon Airways (ANA) will be among the first airlines to operate from the state-of-the-art terminal when it opens to passengers in 2026. Terminal 6 is being developed in two phases, with the first six gates opening in 2026 and construction completion expected by 2028.

ANA is an award-winning Tokyo-based airline carrier. ANA passengers will soon be able to experience T6’s unique guest experiences which include a less than 5-minute walk from TSA security checkpoint exits to all gates.

The T6 project is a main component of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion investment in transforming JFK Airport. The investment includes the creation of 2 new terminals, 2 expanded and modernized terminals, a new ground transportation center, and a brand new simplified roadway network.

T6 will feature 100,000 square feet of NYC-inspired dining, a shopping lounge, amenities, and curated public art.

According to Steve Thody, CEO of JFK Millennium Partners (JMP), ANA has been a long-term tenant at JFK Terminal 7. In a statement, Thody highlighted JMP’s positive experience with ANA, stating, “Since our team took over the management of Terminal 7 two years ago, we have seen firsthand their commitment to quality, operational safety, and exceptional passenger care.” He added that JMP looks forward to strengthening the partnership as they embark on the next chapter together at Terminal 6.

ANA Executive Vice President of Alliances & International Affairs, Facilities, and Digital Transformation, Katsuya Goto, expressed enthusiasm about serving customers in Terminal 6. “JFK Terminal 6 is an excellent terminal – not only in terms of customer value but also in terms of operations. I am confident that our customers will consistently be highly satisfied,” Goto said.

Toshio Nomura, ANA Executive Vice President for The Americas and General Manager of New York, emphasized the airline’s longstanding commitment to the region. “We have long wanted to enhance the customer experience at JFK, and it’s a great honor for us to welcome our customers to the new Terminal 6 with our latest 777-300ER product,” Nomura stated, noting that ANA has proudly served New York for over 30 years.
